PR, to me, isn't just the ability to tell stories and sell them to the public, but also a way to change culture. My current PR experiences have helped me develop my leadership, work ethic, and problem-solving, and I ensure my work is of the highest quality. In times of struggle, my ability to think critically has resurrected projects and created work worth sharing.
Through my time as a student, I culminated two organizational leadership roles during my time at CU. As PR secretary and Acting President for CU Jam Society, I revitalized a dying music club and grew its membership by 200% through board-led charity concerts, community engagement, and musically focused brand marketing. As the Events Coordinator for PRSSA, I used networking abilities to create events that satisfied the needs of the CMDI student body and created an environment that initiated student growth and triumph. In both settings, I facilitated and nurtured communities that allowed campus culture to thrive.
As an intern of JKD & Co, I carried this same passion through my efforts in the event planning and copywriting for the Transplant Games of America. During the Transplant Games, I was a member of the Transplant Life Foundation Media team under JKD, where I assisted in coordinating press conferences with notable figures such as 4-time Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin and capturing stories of transplant recipients and donor families.
Being a PR professional is more than a career; it is the opportunity to drive culture further, whether it is through my passion for helping others, my love for music and culture, or simply making sure I can do a good turn daily.
